Mark Pitta


Mark Pitta began his stand up comedy career in 1981 and since has appeared locally at Cobbs Comedy Club, The Punchline, Holy City Zoo, and The Other Caf. He has made six appearances on NBCs The Tonight Show (with hosts Johnny Carson and Jay Leno), and has also performed on Comedy Centrals The A List, Premium Blend, Make Me Laugh, and Dr. Katz. He served as host of Fox Televisions Totally Hidden Video for two seasons, and has hosted NBCs Friday Night Videos. His sitcom appearances include 3rd Rock from the Sun, Mad About You, and a pilot for NBC which he wrote and starred in. Pitta has toured with Howie Mandel, Celine Dion, Vanessa Williams, and Paul Anka.

Carlos Alazraqui


You may know Carlos Alazraqui as Officer James Garcia on Comedy Central's Reno 911! Carlos starred in his own half hour stand up comedy special on Comedy Central, and is a former winner of the San Francisco International Comedy Competition. You also may have seen him on his many appearances on VH1 and E Television reality series. Carlos also provided the voice talent on one of the most recognizable campaigns in commercial history: "Yo Quiero Taco Bell."

Will Durst

Will Durst

Don Friesen


Don, the only two-time winner in the 36-year history of the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition! Johnny Steele


Johnny is the past winner of the San Francisco International Comedy Competition.  He hosted Bay TV/KRON's "The Show" and the Live 105 morning show on KITS.  He is currently creator and host of The War On Error Radio Hour and he can be seen live monthly in the Johnny Steele & Pals Comedy Shows in Lafayette.  His website is


Dan St. Paul


Dan has appeared on several episodes of "An Evening at the Improv", plus numerous shows on VH-1, MTV, and Comedy Central. Since then, he has opened for such superstars as Jerry Seinfeld, Natalie Cole, Dwight Yoakum, Smokey Robinson, and Vince Gill. He appeared in the movie "Flubber" with Robin Williams, and his CD, "Natural and Good for You" contains one the most requested comedy pieces on radio, "The First Baseball Game". He was also in the finals of the nation's toughest comedy competition, The San Francisco International Stand-Up Comedy Competition.


Chicago Steve Barkley


"Chicago Steve" Barkley is a Bay Area based, internationally known comedy veteran of stage, screen, and radio. Steve headlines comedy clubs all over the US, Canada, Mexico and even Guam!  He's appeared on "Showtime," "An Evening at the Improv," and was featured on ABC and "Americas Funniest People." He has shared the stage with Jerry Seinfeld, Whoopie Goldberg, Gary Shandling, Kevin Pollak, Dana Carvey, Sid Caesar, Milton Berle and Danny Thomas. Mickey Joseph


This rubber-faced non-stop comic genius should not be missed ! He brings the best out in his audience with his jackhammer delivery, manic facial expressions, and timely physical humor. Paul Ogata


In October of 2007, Paul Ogata won the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition, joining the pantheon of comedy greats, including Dana Carvey, Doug Stanhope, Jake Johannsen and Sinbad. Paul has appeared on Comedy Central's "Live At Gotham", and CBS' "The Late Late Show".Paul's act has garnered rave reviews across the globe, as he headlines shows from Tokyo to Times Square, from Hollywood to Hong Kong. TimeOut Magazine calls him, "Astoundingly Funny." Monterey County Weeklysays "This crazy guy is definitely worth seeing." 


Steven Pearl


A well-respected comedian whose been compared to a tornado on amphetamines. His high-energy comedy act is both outrageous and hysterically original. In the late 1980s he began appearing on numerous TV shows, including "Evening at the Improv"and "Caroline's Comedy Hour". During this same period he began touring extensively clubs, colleges, and festivals all across the U.S. and around the world. Some of his many credits include writing for and working with such comedic legends as Sam Kinison, Bill Hicks, Jim Carrey, Robin Williams and Rodney Dangerfield. A true journeyman comic, Steven Pearl continues to push the envelope of both good taste and sanity. 


Jeff Applebaum


Jeff has been entertaining people all around North America for over 12 years, including audiences of more than 10,000 people at the ARCO Arena (in Sacramento) and the Anaheim Convention Center. His down-to-earth style and resemblance to popular TV characters has led to great shows at clubs, colleges, and corporate functions. Jeff won the "Comedian of the Year - 2003" in the SF Bay Area Cabaret Competition. Jeff recently made his national TV debut on CBS as a comedian on the "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson." Stephen B.


26 years after he first took the comedy stage, Stephen B. continues bringing his clean, high-energy comedy to clubs, corporate and Christian audiences nationwide. Dave Burleigh


For years, comedian Dave Burleigh has been entertaining audiences around the globe with his unique blend of comedy. His universal appeal and talent have landed him on various T.V. shows, premiere cruise lines, the biggest casinos in Las Vegas, and in the Boardroom of Fortune 500 companies. Dave has honed his skills as a master impressionist and possesses an arsenal of spot-on celebrity impressions. His ability to incorporate this lost art form into his act guarantees the audience will be left wanting more. Norm Goldblatt


Norm has been a contributor to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. His quips were quoted regularly by the late, great San Francisco Chronicle columnist, Herb Caen. His material touches on everything from current events to the world of Science. He appears at corporate events and in all the major clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Rooster T Feathers, Cobbs, and the Improv.


Ross Turner


ROSS TURNER has opened for Bobby Slayton, Orny Adams, Jeff Dunham, and the great Robert Schimmel (HBO, Showtime and The Howard Stern Show). He can be seen regularly at all the San Francisco comedy clubs, Pepper Belly's Comedy Theater in Fairfield and the San Jose Improv.


David Vanavermaete


As a 55 year old former president of a $1B fortune 500 company, David’s act draws from a wealth of personal and professional experience. He performs regularly in comedy clubs, bars and showcases around the bay including The Improv in San Jose, Rooster T. Feathers in Sunnyvale and Tommy T’s in Pleasanton. David won the 2007 Tommy T’s Comedy Competition and 2006 Rooster T. Feathers Comedy Competition besting 100 comedians for each title.



Sammy Wegent

2005 SJ Improv "Battle of the Bay" winner. He has performed at The Chicago Improv Festival, SF Improv Festival, DC Comedy Fest, San Jose Improv, Stand Up NY, Gotham Comedy Club, and Toronto International Improv Festival.


Anthony Hill


A regular performer at the Improv in San Jose, Anthony has opened for Brett Butler, Robert Schimmel, Bob Saget, Brian Regan and Darrell Hammond, amongst others.


Deb Campo


Watching Debbie perform is like being in the company of a good friend.  Her saucy, edgy sense of humor appeals to many audiences, treating the crowd like guests at her party! Making it to the finals of Nick at Nite’s Funniest Mom in America 3 with Roseanne Barr, she was also a finalist in 2006 Rooster T. Feathers and 50 Mason Comedy Club comedy competitions. Creator and host of the Comedy Slam at Sam’s, she was also the house emcee for The Clubhouse at the San Francisco Comedy College.


Justin Lamb


Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Justin now lives in San Francisco where he performs stand up regularly. He has been seen on MTV2, is a member of the comedy group SPF7( writes the blog Let'sMake A List First(


Richard Stockton


In 1982, he became the morning talk show host of WKDA/KDF in Nashville, Tennessee which was the number one talk show in the mid south for two years. In 1986, he became a full time touring comedian, based in San Francisco. In his twenty-one years as a standup comedian, he has appeared on dozens of national TV shows, headlined A List comedy clubs from coast to coast – Improv, Punchline, Comedy Underground, Comedy Works, and more – growing an audience of devotees to his unique take on the human potential movement.


Tim Lee


Tim wasn't supposed to be a comedian. A biologist by training, he graduated magna cum laude from UC San Diego with honors in biology. He went on to complete his PhD at UC Davis. He spent years developing simulation and analytical models of population dynamics before he discovered that this bored him to tears. When he tried comedy for the first time the tears stopped.

Tim Lee has performed for clubs, colleges and companies across the USA. He draws heavily on his science background to twist abstract theory into thought provoking comedy.

Dennis Gaxiola


Dennis is one of the hottest urban comics in America.  A native of Berkeley, Ca, and the son of a preacher, Dennis' comedy is as diverse as any you will ever hear.  With a melting pot of a family, that includes his Mexican heritage, an African American Brother in-law, a Jewish Brother in-law, a Puerto Rican sister in-law and a Filipino wife, Dennis' quick wit is loaded for any audience.  His smooth relaxed delivery is spiced up with edgy, thought provoking material that has lead to numerous television appearances and DVD projects.


Sal Calanni


Over the past few years, Sal has appeared all over the Bay Area including the Punchline, Cobb's Comedy Club, the San Jose Improv and he is also the weekly host at the Sea Biscuit. Sal's comedy paints pictures to audiences. He enjoys describing his Italian family- well actually Sicilian, lot of people don't count that as Italian- as he magically morphs in and out of characters right before your eyes. He also likes to express his opinions about race, politics, life, and anything else that should probably never be discussed over a bottle of whiskey.


Bengt Washburn


Bengt is a former winner of the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition. He has also been heard on “the Bob and Tom Show”. His ever evolving act is sometimes topical, often autobiographical, at times poignant, mostly true and of course very, very, funny. A one-of-a-kind gem on the American comedy landscape.


Sam Arno


Sam Arno offers the unique perspective of the typical French-Moroccan Jewish guy from Baltimore. He is a master at twisting real-life experiences into the absurd. A San Francisco-based comedian, he now performs at major Bay Area clubs. He was a regular performer at the Original Improv in New York City and a member of the renowned Improv Troupe Groundlings East. Sam Arno has appeared on BET’s Coming to the Stage, and played a part in Woody Allen’s film, “Annie Hall.” Before moving to California, Sam had a comedy cable show in New York City.


Albert Vallejo


Albert Vallejo began performing stand-up in college – During class! Since then, Albert has performed at the Punchline, Improv, Comedy store, Catch a Raising Star, and many others. Albert also regularly performs for various benefits and charity fund-raisers. He has appeared in concert with Fog Hat – Tower of Power – Rick Springfield – Russ Freeman and the Rippingtons – Richard Lewis – and many more. 


Larry "Bubbles" Brown


Larry has been on Letterman, Comedy Central, HBO, and Showtime. He did Live l05 with Alex
Bennett for 2 years, and will be in the movie Kiterunner coming out in November.


Reggie Steele


A native of Alabama, Reggie started his comedy career in the vibrant city of San Francisco, he is considered a star on the rise in the local comedy scene. In 2007 Reggie was a finalist for NBC’s Stand-Up for Diversity Showcase, he was also featured on the second season of Martin Lawrence Presents, and in 2008 he traveled overseas to perform for the troops. He has worked with some of comedy’s brightest stars from Dave Chappelle, Ian Bagg, Arj Barker, Damon Wayans, Freddy Soto, Pablo Francisco, to Wanda Sykes and many more. He’s funny, charismatic, and smart. In 2003, he won the Rooster T Feathers Amateur Comedy Competition, besting over 100 Bay Area comedians!


Tapan Trivedi


Tapan Trivedi grew up in India. He was a Finalist in the Funniest Person in Houston Competition. Since then he has performed with comedians like Dave Attell,Tom Rhodes, Bobby Slayton, Debbie Gutierrez, Jerry Corley, Michael Pace, Ralphie Mae, and Lahna Turner. Sacramento News and Review calls him one of the best comedians in California - period and Jeffrey Callison of NPR says 'This cat made me laugh out more than ANY guest ever has!


Erikka Innes


Erikka has toured with Women Who Kick Comedy Butt and the national 5 Funny Females tour. She runs her own comedy show, the super popular 'Geek Comedy Night' which she regularly hosts, promotes and performs in at various locations around the bay area. In her free time, she has worked as a contributing writer for such television shows as "Fondle the Fear" and worked as a film scout for Viacom Productions. When she's not writing or performing she's probably busy dreaming about being a starship captain.


Andrew Norelli


Andrew Norelli was born in New York, and Raised in Danville, California. Raised with a New York mentality, but in California surroundings, his sense of humor reflects this blend. He mixes bold sarcasm with a laid back feel. Sometimes a point is made,sometimes it's pure absurdity. Sometimes dark, sometimes off-beat, his material is hard to forget. His credit include "The Byron Allen Show", "Live at Gotham" on Comedy Central, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and the nationally syndicated show "Comics Unleashed," where he also worked as a monologue joke writer.  After appearing at the Montreal Comedy Festival, his performance was praised in the publication Time Out New York.


Susan Maletta


Susan Maletta is a sexy, sassy, and silly stand-up comedian based in the San Francisco bay area. Susan fires off her relatable insights in a high-energy, charismatic performance that amuses and delights audiences of all ages. Susan Maletta has appeared on Nick-at-Nite's America's Funniest Mom 3, and is the co-host of the comedy radio talk show  "The John Miller Program with Susan Maletta". Susan has also toured with Women Who Kick Comedy Butt and performs in comedy clubs throughout the country.


Paul Ruiz


Winner of the 2006 Meridian Amateur Comedy Competition! Paul Akbar Ruiz brings an off-beat perspective to audiences, drawing on his multicultural family, as well as college, military, and corporate life experiences. Paul has performed in San Francisco, the East Bay, and New York.


Maggie Newcomb


Maggie Newcomb is a hilarious bay area comic known for her original, clever and positive material. Even at her day job when she is teaching English as a second language she finds a way to make her class laugh. She won the 2004 Battle of the Bay Comedy Competition at the San Jose Improv and shortly after she made it to the semi finalist at the 2005 California's Funniest Female Competition in Los Angeles. Maggie has opened for many national headliners including Darrell Hammond, Craig Ferguson, Harland Williams, Jake Johannsen, Clinton Jackson, and Bruce Baum.


Ken Koskella


Ken was the Winner of the San Diego Comedy Competition. Winner of the Avalon Comedy Competition. A finalist in the Rooster T. Feathers Comedy Competition, and semi-finalist in the San Francisco International Comedy Competition. He was featured on the TV show "Stand-up" it's Thursday Night. KRON TV San Francisco. Ken is the Producer of and performs in "The Suburban Comedy Tour". He is unique to the comedy scene. He has been called "a tanned, dapper Rodney Dangerfield" by the Oakland Tribune. I saw him perform and laughed so hard my sides hurt. "You really have to see this guy."


Samson Koletkar


San has been doing standup for 3+ years. He was a finalist at the Rooster T. Feathers Comedy Competition, and placed 2nd at the Killer Laughs Comedy Contest in Pleasanton. He has performed at comedy clubs all over the country including The Punchline and Cobb's Comedy Club in San Francisco, The Improv in San Jose, The Improv in Hollywood, Wiseguys Comedy Club in Salt Lake City, and Carolines in New York. George Corrigan


George has worked with some of the biggest names in stand-up including Brett Butler, Bobby Slayton and David Alan Grier at the San Jose Improv, Rocky LaPorte at Pepper Belly's, Johnny Steele at the Sacramento Punchline, Daniel Tosh at the San Francisco Punchline. He is a favorite with bookers looking for a smart, warm, engaging and fiercely funny comic and has worked rooms from Ukiah, California to Sun Valley, Idaho. During an appearance at the LA Improv he was selected by renown comedienne Judy Carter as one of the four "New Faces of Comedy". Lizette Mizzelle


Lizette has been named the first High Wire winner with Crackle, a Sony Pictures Entertainment company. Snippets of her act have also been featured on Comedy Time. A fitness enthusiast, disgruntled hairdresser, and single mother of three, she has lots of inspiration for her clever, physically delivered hilarious stories. Candy Churilla


Candy was featured on season six of NBC's Last Comic Standing. She was born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania. As a little girl, she dreamed of escaping Scranton to make a better life for herself and she finally has--in Oakland, of all places, where she hosts the monthly Backroom Comedy at McNally’s Irish Pub. She won Rooftop Comedy's Comic of the Month Contest in August 2006 and placed as a finalist in the Ladies Only Comedy Competition at Cobb's Comedy Club in San Francisco. Liz Grant


She was a winner of The Brian Regan Impression Contest, a writer for George Carlin's and the creator of the one woman stand up show Deja Wince: Lessons From A Failed Relationship Expert. Bryce Jones


Bryce is a 14 year old comedian from the Bay Area. He began performing stand up comedy in 2006 when he was 11 years old and began to do professional shows when he was 14. In 2009 he was a finalist in the Rooster T Feathers competition, He has performed at some of the top Bay Area comedy clubs and venues and has hosted at Stanford's 750 Pub. Lynn Ruth Miller


LYNN RUTH MILLER started doing comedy on stage when she was 71 years old, and she was dubbed the new Joan Rivers of Fringe Comedy. Now she is 75 and she swears she hasn't gotten the last laugh yet. Kellen Erskine


Kellen Erskine is the wind beneath your wings and the bomb in your luggage compartment. Like a syringe his act is clean, sharp, and addicting. Phil Johnson


Being human is a constant struggle between defining ourselves as individuals and trying to fit in with “the group”. Phil Johnson, who has appeared at the Sundance Film Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, uses comedy and music to dissect that dilemma in both his own life and others.


Brendan Lynch


Brendan has established himself as a comedian to look out for in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is a regular performer at clubs all over the Northern California and has performed in the San Francisco SketchFest for the last two years. Don't be deceived by Brendan's low-key manner. Prepare yourself for an outrageous slice outside the cookie cutter of life. Brendan's astute observational comedy will surprise you with its bold sarcasm, absurd twists, and hilarious punch lines.


Dave Thomason


Dave is a stand-up comedian and writer based in San Francisco. He has performed at the SF Sketchfest and the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival, and he’s a winner of the 2011 Silver Nail Award recognizing the best in underground comedy. A regular at the Punch Line in San Francisco, his stand-up has also been featured on NPR’s “Snap Judgment”. While attending UC Berkeley, Dave was a two-time semi-finalist in the National College Comedy Competition. Dave’s comedy will leave you going “We want more!”, but the show’s over. Go home, dude.


Tim Babb


Tim has successfully worked with such varied acts as Christopher Titus, Sinbad, and "Weird Al" Yankovic.He has impress the judges in several comedy competitions including the 2009 San Francisco International Comedy Competition, the 2008 Boston Comedy Festival, the 2007 California Comedy festival in Los Angeles, the Rocky Mountain Laugh-Off in Salt Lake City, Las Vegas' Laugh Across America Comedy Competition, as well as the San Jose Battle of the Bay Competition.


Clara Bijl


Clara was born in Paris, France, and then one day, she moved to New York City to begin a career in stand-up comedy. Performing all around the Big Apple and the rest of the country, she became a prolific writer of cutting, witty, internationally flavored comedy. She was a semifinalist in Comedy Central's Laugh Riots competition; she performed in Holland's "The Comedy Factory TV Show," the 2005 and 2006 New York Underground Comedy Festival, and the 2008 Detroit International Comedy Festival.


Myles Weber


Myles was runner-up of the Best Of The Bay Area Comedy Competition in 2009, and the winner of the Bay Area All-Star Comedy Competition in 2012. Weber is one of the most engaging comics in the Bay Area. A truly delightful force onstage, you are sure to have many laughs, at his (and your own) expense. Myles has worked with some of biggest names in comedy today, including Robin Williams, Rob Schneider, Louie Anderson, Jeffrey Ross and Dana Carvey.


Bernadette Luckett


Bernadette is originally from the SF Bay Area, but started her standup career in New York City. She’s performed at comedy clubs all over the US, and has appeared on comedy shows on NBC, Comedy Central and MTV. She segued from standup into comedy writing and has worked on several sitcoms including: Living Single; Sister, Sister; The Tracy Morgan Show; Girlfriends; and Romeo!. draws her humor from her unique perspective on the odd events in her life, and the odd circumstances she constantly attracts into her life.


Yvette Fernandez 


Yvette has appeared on CNN, NBC, ABC—as a Television Reporter. Today, she can be seen on stages small and large bringing her unique perspective and tales of woe to a comedic crash landing. Her comedy has been described as intellectual and sassy with a dash of spicy salsa. You can expect plenty of Spanglish infused stories. She has performed at Clubs that include: The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, Ice House in Pasadena, Flappers in Burbank, Purple Onion in San Francisco.


Ian Williams


Ian Williams first stepped onto the comedy stage in Chicago in the mid ‘80s after graduating from college. By the end of the decade, he had appeared on MTV, A&E, Showtime and Star Search and moved to San Francisco. Williams took a break from full-time work at the end of the ‘90s and emceed events throughout the Bay Area. He also married and help raise 4 kids. Now, he has returned with a fresh perspective!


Al Clethen


You may recognize Al Clethen from his numerous appearances on Showtime, A&E, Comedy Central and MTV, including his starring role in the HBO’s Robert Townsend special, Partners in Crime. He regularly works with great talent like Robin Williams, Will Smith, Tina Turner, Chaka Kahn, Gloria Estefan, Dana Carvey, Drew Carey and many more. From comedy clubs to concert halls to sold out stadiums, Al Clethen delivers the goods.
